10 random things about me
- I like bulleted lists. They’re not as restrictive as numbered lists, but they still maintain order. I discovered relatively recently that I’m incredibly boring and linear.
- Once, when I was a kid out riding my bike, a bug flew into my eye and got stuck – I had to be taken to the emergency room, where a doctor put some kind of solution into my eye, held a black light over my face, and proceeded to detach the bug with tweezers, like I was the guy in the Operation game. I now have a freakish “eye thing,” where I can’t stand watching people put drops or contacts in…
- I would like to own a bearded dragon some day.
- I think my dream job would be as an analyst for the Congressional Research Service, examining and helping to craft domestic social policy (education/technology, family rights issues). speaking of boring…
- I’m usually only funny when I’m being crude.
- I’ve always loved the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, but according to this (<scientific) study, I’m probably dumb… I guess I should read Lolita to smarten up – At least I already know that I like other Russian literature, so maybe there’s a little hope for me.
- My best friends are usually engineers and computer scientists. And occasionally some humanities kids, since they know how to interact with others. : o)
- I’m a very slow veggie chopper. LOVE to cook, but it takes me considerably longer than it should.
- We own every season of Stargate SG-1. And Atlantis. And the movies. And a Dog’s Breakfast.
- On spring break in Washington, D.C., in 2007, after spending an entire day in the National Air & Space Museum, I stepped outside the door, walked down two stairs, and a bird pooped right in the middle of the top of my head.
- *That may have been the most preposition-filled sentence I have ever written…
I do not equate linear with boring, which means maybe, I too, am boring??
Your dream job does sound boring! And, your friends, too, sound boring! Slow foods is a hot field now: http://www.slowfood.com/, so you are on the cutting edge. My older brother went to the international slow food conference in Italy a few years back!
